Don Monaco Pizzeria & Catering: Savory Comfort Food in Oak Forest

Our pizza was WAY over cooked. Being on vacation, it's not easy sometimes to just hop back to a place to say something. We were early to get them so I'm unsure why.

They cook their pizza slices a day before..freeze them..reheat them up to serve you, the consumer. The guy on the phone told me that it was still considered fresh…red flag. They should consider making a fresh slice of pizza the same day. When I did get my slice of pizza it was noticeable that they made it like a day before. Not really what I expect to get from a pizza joint. I’d rather get a frozen pizza in a store then. I’m not sure how they make their full pizzas to order. I just know the slices are not fresh to order.

Pizza, jalepeno poppers, nachos, and tomato bread are my go to’s. Made by a family who have their recipes down. Such a cheap price but don’t skimp on flavor. Should have considerably more business from the local community (I’m an oak forester)

Smells just like a typical mom and pop pizza place which is amazing. Place is a little tough to spot from the street, so keep your eyes peeled. Pizza overall is very good. The crust is crispy and buttery and the cheese is a big tangy. Reminds me a lot of Home Run Inn (actual restaurant, not the frozen stuff you buy at the store). Worth the price for sure. Staff is engaging and efficient.

We always order from here and it’s great! We always get pizza and wings ! Today… I also got the southwest salad and OMGEE!! it is amazing! I already ate some I’m full and still have more than half left (lunch tomorrow!)

Accidentally ordered a stuffed pizza instead of a regular thin crust. Felt bad because it was in their final hour of being open! That's what I get for taking a gummy and trying to order pizza. Sorry to the owner for ordering a deep dish this late, but I have to say it was a really good pizza and my wife and I enjoyed it despite my mistake ordering. I ordered it medium-well done and it had a good cook on it/was cooked to order. Need to go back and order the thin crust. Where is Dave Portnoy for this place?

If your looking for an affordable pizza lunch on the go this is a good spot. Huge pizza slice and can of pop for $6! We cut one of the slices into 3 slices just because it’s easier to eat. Tonz of cheese and sausage. Will definitely go again for this special . It is just a grab n go no dine in.

Amazing family owned restaurant. They have prices that make me feel good eating out. For as much as getting McDonalds for a family of 5 you can get a 3 course meal that satisfies an entire family
